AYYY - the border was so crazy! We had to go to three different places, wait in three different lines, and walk across the scariest bridge. This bridge was missing boards, some of the boards that were there were rotting and falling apart others moved when you stepped on them. Not to mention it took about 10 minutes to cross.
We went to Bocas del Toro. Which is basically an island and you have to take a boat taxi anywhere you want to go. It was a cute place but sadly it rained most of the time we were there. We stayed at a hostel called Aqua Lounge which was pretty cool. But we missed both of the big party nights...We got there Sunday and left Wednesday morning. The two party nights are Saturday and Wednesdays - we told them to post that on their website. Ha! The first night there we decided to find somewhere to get dinner since the chef at our hostel was gone for Semana Santa. On our walk to the restaurant we had a nice few (and when I say a few I really mean a lot of) run-ins with some blue crabs. And they were HUGE! Nicole and I were not too happy. It was a dark path to the restaurant and it was about a 7-10 minute walk from the hostel.

We got to do something completely different in Bocas: Coral Surfing.
The tour started with snorkeling - which I quickly found out was not for me. It freaked me out. I should probably tell you of one of my fears or I guess you could say something that just creeps me out: Being out in the ocean not near land with feet upon feet below me, fish swimming all around me, and being near a huge buoy and boat creeps me out. The only thing I could think about was the movie Open Water and Ralphie May's skit on it. I tried to enjoy myself but even my snorkel gear hated me...my goggles weren't tight enough at first then the snorkel mouth piece was so big for my mouth that I could barely keep it in and water would rush into my mouth. AY, QUE HORROR! But after about 30 minutes of just chilling in the ocean...finally it was time to try out coral surfing. I was pretty timid about this from the get-go but I told Nicole I would suck it up and do it (essentially). I LOVED IT! Seems odd that I would love that and not the snorkeling but I think it was because I was being dragged from a boat and I could control how I moved through the water. Below is a video of someone coral surfing in Bocas del Toro.
